KLANG FORESTS AS OF 2021
Klang Valley has always been the epicenter and capital of Malaysia's economic growth, facilitating the rapid urban expansion for commercial and residential purposes. However, this momentum has been increasingly affecting the environment and society negatively from the destruction of the ecological system. Day by day, swathes of greenery are converted into concrete jungle which destroys wildlife habitats and increase urban heat.
Unregulated development has created a vast array of problems for the Klang Valley populace. Urban encorachment into our surrounding forests have created cases of water insecurity as forests provide as a region of water catchment, hence providing a reliable water source. In addition, aboriginals, otherwise known as Orang Asli who are regarded as the original settlers of the area had their homes destroyed in favour of unsustainable development projects.

In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic had the media's attention away from illegal development in our forest reserves which had led to trees cut down without notice.

Clearly, this is untenable for the future vision of a developed Malaysia and action must be taken NOW.
